About us: In 2022, Provider organizations spent $20 billion pursuing claims delays and over $750 billion in denied claims. Health plans use machine-driven algorithms to deny claims while providers must invest human capital to reverse incorrect denials, the most time consuming part of revenue cycle management. When providers can't get paid, the bill often becomes the responsibility of the patient, which is what happened to my brother over his 8 surgeries for ulcerative colitis. Protego is the AI-powered denial protection solution that cross references ERAs, payor policies  and patient records to generate claim-level appeals.

Description: Business operations and Sales Enablement Intern

Location: Remote - U.S. based (not West Coast)

Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical, emotionally intelligent intern to join our team. This role will involve organizing and synthesizing insights from past conversations with investors, customers, and partners to generate actionable summaries and inform strategic decision-making. Candidates should be familiar with and utilize AI tools to enhance their work and should have some familiarity with the healthcare industry.

The intern will work closely with our leadership team to analyze market opportunities, refine product roadmaps, and contribute to targeted commercialization and communication efforts. This role offers opportunities to expand into marketing and client outreach responsibilities as trust and skills develop.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales/Marketing:

• Review a defined list of private equity (PE) firms and analyze the portfolios of their funds, identifying specialty provider roll-ups.
• Use and train AI tools to organize data on specialty denial rates to identify and target potential customers.

Data Organization and Analysis:

• Sift through notes from past conversations with investors, customers, and partners.
• Utilize AI tools to create summaries for individual conversations and broader categories (e.g., RCM leaders, health systems, individual providers).
• Analyze insights to build a business case for targeting specific market segments.

Product Roadmap and Strategy Support:

• Collaborate with leadership to translate feedback into actionable updates for the product roadmap.
• Contribute to the development of strategies for engaging target business segments.

Market and Competitive Research:

• Conduct research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics.
